Members of the KU Community are responsible for the privacy of the confidential or sensitive information resulting from their teaching, research, and service to Kansas. The information on this page is meant to identify the issues of information handling in moving, traveling or leaving KU and to provide some basic information. When moving offices due to reassignments (temporary, permanent or a change in duties), traveling for extended periods (school breaks, Sabbatical, personal escape), or leaving KU for other endeavors, the faculty, staff, student employees, GTA/GRA, etc., should consider what confidential or sensitive information they create, manage, use, handle, and how to address the privacy and security of the information when moving, traveling or leaving.
Whether moving offices within a building, going to a new building, or leaving the KU campus (for an hour, a day, a year, or indefinitely), all KU Private Information in transit should be secured.
