Consider what you provide in an e-mail that is no more than a digital postcard. Before you share any information with an entity requesting it or voluntarily share it on your part, consider that anyone may have access to the information.
A few tips for e-mail privacy in 2007:
- Do not provide usernames in your e-mails
- Do not provide any financial account numbers or credit card numbers in an e-mail.
- Do not provide passwords in an e-mail.
- Never share your Social Security Number by e-mail
- Beware Before You Share!
