Tips for E-mail and your Privacy

Consider what you provide in an e-mail that is no more than a digital postcard. Before you share any information with an entity requesting it or voluntarily share it on your part, consider that anyone may have access to the information.

A few tips for e-mail privacy in 2007:

  • Do not provide usernames in your e-mails
  • Do not provide any financial account numbers or credit card numbers in an e-mail.
  • Do not provide passwords in an e-mail.
  • Never share your Social Security Number by e-mail
  • Beware Before You Share!
