Student Records

FAQs Student Records (or " Education Records: Those records which are directly related to a student and which are maintained by the University or by a party acting for the University. A record means any information recorded in any way, including, but not limited to, handwriting, print, tape, film, microfilm and microfiche.") at the University of Kansas are in many different forms and found in a multitude of locations.

The Vice Provost for Student Success posts the policy on Student Records, which may be found on the web site at https://documents.ku.edu/policies/Student_Success/OUR/Student_Record_Policy.htm. The policy is based on the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), as amended. A notice of this policy is published each semester by the Office of the University Registrar.

Questions regarding the University of Kansas' policy should be directed to the Office of the University Registrar, the Privacy Office, or the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Success on the Lawrence campus, or the offices of the Registrar or Dean of Students at the KU Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.
